ITV/STV is shaking up the nation’s junk drawers with How To Clean Up For Cash, a fresh and funny new entertainment show fronted by Josie Gibson.

It’s part heart, part havoc and all about hidden treasure, as Josie and her expert teammates expose just how much forgotten items could really be worth. Expect secret missions, priceless reactions and the ultimate test for clutter‑keepers everywhere!

What’s the show about?

ITV explains: 'Across the country our homes are storing £32 billion pounds worth of unused and unloved items; we’re sitting on a fortune without even knowing it! As a car boot fanatic and passionate collector Josie loves her stuff, but over 60% of us are fed up with other people’s clutter. So Josie gives some long-suffering families the chance to have their loved one’s clutter cleared and valued in secret.'

Detailing the format, it adds: 'In just 48 hours, Josie along with antiques and collectable expert Dan Hatfield and declutter expert Jacqueline McLeod infiltrate the homes of clutter culprits without them knowing. Whilst they’re distracted on a fake show, Josie and her team box up their belongings behind their back and find out how much it’s all worth, ready to sell the lot! When the culprits return home to the shock of a lifetime, they face a pivotal decision: do they keep the clutter or take the cash?'

Josie said: “How To Clean Up For Cash is a show with so much heart. It isn’t just about decluttering, it’s about bringing people together. We’re on the ground, in homes across the country, showing viewers how much their everyday items might be worth.”

ITV’s Head of Development & Commissioning Editor for Factual Entertainment, Kate Teckman, added: “We’ve turned the decluttering genre on its head. Expect mischief, revelations behind the value of everyday items and plenty of jaw dropping moments. Josie’s infectious humour combined with Dan and Jacqui’s expertise really packs a punch.”

Where can I watch it?

The series airs on ITV1 and STV, with all episodes available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.

When is it out?

How To Clean Up For Cash kicks off on Monday 13th April 2026, airing weekly for six episodes.

Simone Haywood, Creative Director at Multistory Media, says: “We’re not just decluttering - we’re revealing the true value behind what people own. When everything’s boxed and priced, it sparks honest, often surprising conversations about what really matters.”

And co‑founder of Vintage Cash Cow, Antony Charman, adds: “How To Clean up For Cash shines a light on something we see every day, valuable items sitting unnoticed in people’s homes. At Vintage Cash Cow, our mission is to make it easy for people to unlock that value, and this series brings that idea to life in a compelling and relatable way.”
