Fresh off the fabulous fifth season, Netflix has officially confirmed that Emily in Paris will strut back for a sixth season, with Lily Collins once again slipping into Emily Cooper’s designer heels.

Series five, which landed on the streaming platform in December, amassed an incredible 26.8M views globally on Netflix in just 11 days, making the decision for another series a very easy choice.

Now we know there's going to be another season of Emily In Paris, here's all of the details we know so far, including the potential plot and start date.

How was the new season of Emily In Paris announced?

Netflix bosses announced the amazing news that Emily In Paris will return for another series on Monday 5th January 2026, with a promotional video starring Emily.

Set to quintessential French music, Emily appears on an iPhone screen above a giant croissant topped with a single candle shaped like the number six. She blows out the candle as Netflix captions the video: “Home sweet home 🇫🇷 Emily in Paris is returning for Season 6!” (sic)

When does season 6 start?

There's no start date announced just yet, but it could be released in the latter stages of 2026.

What will happen in season 6?

As fans of the show will know, season five followed Emily as she launched an Agence Grateau office in the stunning city of Rome, spending time between Rome, Paris and Venice throughout the series.

Season five ended with Emily back in Paris, more self-aware and independent, having grown both personally and professionally, but with her future still open to adventure, following her split from Marcello.

The ending also appears to suggest a reunion between Emily and her ex Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), with creator Darren Star hinting to Tudum: “I think the door’s always open between those two."

Netflix are yet to confirm any plot details for season six, but creator Darren has explained what he hopes for the storyline. He said: "There’s a lot of places I’d love to visit. But I think the show organically follows the storyline.

“The show is Emily in Paris. It’s never going to permanently leave its home base. But if I can take the audience on a journey somewhere else, I would love that … It’s fun to think about.”
