Wales is facing widespread travel disruption today, with crashes on the roads, suspended train services and a new weather warning following the effects of Storm Boelo.

Several crashes have caused delays on the roads this morning.

The A48 is closed eastbound between Llanddarog and Carmarthen.

Severe delays also remain on the M4 westbound between junctions 36 and 37, near Bridgend.

Trains between Llanelli and Shrewsbury have also been suspended.

New weather warning issued

A yellow weather warning for strong winds has been issued for nine areas of Wales, with gusts of up to 65mph expected.

The warning, issued by the Met Office, comes into force at 6pm on Monday 26th October and remains in place until 3am on Tuesday (27th October).

Exposed coastal areas and higher ground are expected to bear the brunt of the strongest winds.

It comes just a day after Storm Boelo brought disruption across the country.

Ongoing impact of Storm Boelo

Storm Boelo has already caused widespread travel disruption on Monday morning, with flooded roads, fallen trees and rail cancellations reported as further heavy rain moved across the country.

Nine flood alerts remain in place across Wales.

Communities affected by flooding over the weekend are facing the prospect of further disruption as unsettled weather continues.
