After 10 weeks of competition, the so-called 'Queen of Soho' has been crowned the eighth winner of RuPaul's Drag Race UK.

Last night, Flesh was crowned the UK's Next Drag Race Superstar by RuPaul Charles in the grand finale and received the all-important cash prize of £25,000.

Twelve queens entered the werkroom 10 weeks ago, but only four finalists remained for the final episode:

  • Alik from Brighton
  • Flesh from London
  • Mocha from Essex
  • Naya Thorn from Dudley

Flesh told Hits Radio Pride: "I feel like I manifested it!

"Before getting cast on the show, I was really contemplating whether the career that I wanted was ever going to come.

"I was really starting to question my longevity in drag.

"I reached so many goals before the show, but it felt that there was an invisible barrier that Drag Race only really allows you to bypass."

The final challenge

The last four took on one last challenge in the finale.

Choreographer Claudimar Neto coached the queens as they performed a special mega mix of Drag Race UK's most iconic girl group songs.

The judging panel was made up of Michelle Visage, Alan Carr and Graham Norton.

Last year's winner and reigning champion Bones also appeared, along with this series' eliminated queens.

RuPaul brought back the eliminated queens for one final catwalk and a musical performance with the four finalists.

The lip-sync and the crown

Alik left the competition when the top four was cut to the top three.

RuPaul then revealed that Flesh, Mocha and Naya Thorn had secured their places and would all lip-sync for the crown.

After the lip-sync battle, RuPaul declared Flesh the winner.

Bones then officially handed over the crown and sceptre.

Bones is Flesh's best friend, and the pair perform together as the duo Flesh and Bones.

Both are part of the Heavenly Bodies family.

Flesh said: "oh my god, this is crazy! I am over the moon, RuPaul where is my cheque?! To be here with Bones is just the perfect moment, this is everything I have ever dream of and more, and I am so proud of myself!"
