Exmouth murder: Detectives make third arrest

A third man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following an assault in Exmouth, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Emergency services were sent after reports that a man in his 20s had been assaulted and found in the garden of a property in Ashfield Close in Exmouth, Devon, at about 12.45am on Saturday.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said the man died at the scene.

Two men in their 20s were found at an address in Hawthorn Grove, Exmouth, and arrested on suspicion of murder.

A third man, also in his 20s, was arrested in Exeter on suspicion of murder.

They remain in police custody, and the dead man's next of kin have been notified.

Detective Inspector Rob Smith said: "Cordons are likely to remain in place for some time yet, and I'd again like to thank residents affected for their patience and understanding.

"If anybody living in the area has any concerns, please speak to our officers at the cordon.

"There will continue to be a heightened police presence in the area as we work to deliver justice for the victim's family."
