South Wales Police are investigating threats made to two schools in Cardiff following an alarming message received through a live chat.

The threats were made at approximately 8.30pm last night, with a claim that an individual intended to visit Llanishen High School and Eastern High School armed with weapons.

Both Cardiff schools were closed today as a precautionary measure after discussions between South Wales Police and Cardiff Council.

No evidence has been found of anyone posing a threat at either school so far.

The decision to close the schools was made to ensure the safety of students, staff, and the broader school communities.

An increased police presence in the area is part of ongoing efforts to determine the credibility and origin of the threat.

While the investigation and searches continue, authorities say they are mindful of the concerns this situation is causing among parents and the community.
