Sam Smith announces new album 'Hazel Eyes' will be out later this year

'Unholy' singer Sam Smith has now announced their fifth album is on the way. The album, which serves as the follow-up to 2023's 'Gloria', will feature 12 songs and be released later this year.
Announcing the exciting news on the same day they released a new song called 'My Guy', along with the music video, Sam wrote on Instagram: 'Hazel Eyes. My new album, August 21st.
'I am so excited to bring this piece of work and music to you. An honest account of my life the last few years, and a sweet escape for anyone who needs it. I believe, after this record more than ever, that love is a cure and music is a sanctuary and honesty is my north star. I can’t wait to share it with you all. Thanks for sticking round all these years to listen.

What is the artwork?
Announcing the news of the upcoming album, Sam also shared the artwork, showing a close-up of themselves lying on the chest of an unknown person.
Speaking about the album, Sam said: "This album is an incredibly special record to me. I have been writing it for over three years with a very small group of beautiful, dear friends of mine.
"This album is very personal, and I feel I have deepened myself as an artist through the making of it, through being a producer on the record, to walking alongside this record from the start to the finish and pushing myself at every single turn. This record and this music is incredibly romantic. I’ve learned so many life lessons through making this album, and I’ve documented it all through the music."
When is the album out?
It will be released on Friday 21st August 2026.
