More than 230 cannabis plants have been seized from a property in Weston-super-Mare.

Officers at Avon and Somerset Police found the plants at a property on Amberey Road at around 11.15am on Friday 19th September.

A significant amount of growing equipment was seized as well as 237 plants, with an estimated worth of around £200,000.

No arrests have been made and enquiries to identify those responsible are ongoing.

Officers were able to secure a warrant on the property after receiving various reports from members of the public.

The force are now calling on the public to know the signs to spot if a property is being used as a cannabis farm.

Signs can include: a powerful smell, frequent visitors, blacked-out windows, condensation on windows, noise from fans and large amounts of rubbish.
