UPFEST street art festival returns to Bristol
Bedminster is set to host live mural painting
Bristol is set to become Europe's largest outdoor street art gallery as UPFEST returns, transforming Bedminster and Southville with vibrant murals and artistic activities.
Starting on Friday 15th May and continuing until Sunday 31st May, the festival will feature over 300 artists painting more than 150 live murals throughout the city.
Visitors can enjoy a plethora of activities, including live artwork, music, workshops, and family-friendly experiences.
The Tobacco Factory will serve as a creative hub, particularly during the festival’s three Saturday Sessions on 16th, 23rd, and 30th May.
These sessions will showcase live DJs selected by DJ Cridge, alongside artist takeovers, live painting, creative workshops, and drop-in activities from midday until late.
Artists like Cheba, Mister Samo, DFTE, and Festival Artist Melo will begin the live mural painting during the opening weekend, with over 100 additional artists participating throughout the festival.
Visitors can also engage in workshops and interactive experiences such as Posca Mindful Mandalas, mosaic making, Lego printing, collaborative tile murals, and free-flow illustration spaces.
Steve Hayles, Co-Founder of UPFEST, said:
“There’s nothing quite like the atmosphere when UPFEST begins and Bristol’s walls start coming alive.
"What makes the festival so special is that it’s not just about watching incredible artists paint - it’s about getting involved, trying something creative yourself and seeing the city transformed in real time."
