We have arrested two people for being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and drug driving following a proactive vehicle stop in Chippenham on Friday night.
Officers received a call from the public that day regarding suspicious activity, which was suspected drug dealing.
Following enquiries by the county Local Policing Tasking Team the vehicle involved - a black Ford Fiesta - was sighted and stopped in London Road.
The driver, an 18-year-old man, and a passenger, a 20-year-old woman, were searched, during which a substantial quantity of white powder, suspected to be a class A drug, a quantity of cash, weighing scales and mobile phones were located.
Officers also completed a roadside preliminary drugs wipe test on the driver, which came back positive for cannabis and cocaine.
Searches of both home addresses were also completed whereby further drugs and paraphernalia were seized.
The two suspects were arrested and taken into custody. They have been bailed while enquiries continue.
PC Hughes from the county LPTT said: āReports and intelligence submissions from the public are crucial.
āWe encourage everyone to report suspicious activity of any scale so we can continue to provide an effective response.ā
