Weston-super-Mare is set to come alive for its biggest event of the year - Summer Fest at the Beach.

Tens of thousands of people are travelling to Marine Parade for a weekend filled with diverse performances and activities on the town's scenic seafront.

Organisers are hoping to recreate the noughties magic of T4 on the Beach.

"We went down the road of booking all the artists who had previously appeared on the T4 stage," said festival director Ian Rogers.

"It gives everyone the chance to have a little walk down memory lane.

"All the acts have got a big catalogue of hits so they're going to be performing the classics. It's very nostalgic," Ian added.

Saturday Highlights

On Saturday, music legends and high-energy acts take to the stage. Performers include:

  • Craig David
  • Dizzee Rascal
  • Sophie Ellis-Bextor
  • Five
  • Scouting for Girls
  • Feeder
  • Diversity
  • Gok Wan

Saturday's weather forecast predicts windy and cool conditions, with possible gales particularly affecting the coast.

Rain is expected at times, although the afternoon should see drier conditions and sunnier skies spreading eastwards. The maximum temperature will be 16 °C.

Sunday Line-up

The festival concludes on Sunday, featuring an exciting variety of artists:

  • Madness
  • Razorlight
  • The Hoosiers
  • Sister Sledge ft. Slegendary
  • The Feeling
  • Ocean Colour Scene

Sunday is set to be warmer, though breezy and rather cloudy, with isolated showers possible.

Summer Fest at the Beach offers family-friendly entertainment, with food stalls, fairground rides, and beach bars to enjoy.

Great Western Railway (GWR) is adding over 5,000 extra seats on trains this weekend.

"Summer Fest at the Beach is a fantastic event and we want to make sure as many people as possible can enjoy it without the stress of driving or finding parking" said GWR Station Manager Adam Hopkins.

"We've worked hard to put on a significant number of extra seats across the whole weekend, but services will be busy and we'd strongly encourage everyone to check their journey and, where possible, book in advance.

"Our teams will be on hand at stations throughout the weekend to help."

Public transport options, including National Express coaches and enhanced rail services, are available for those attending the festival.

Festival-goers can look forward to a celebration of music and community on Somerset's coastline.
