Burst water main causes flood and leaves homes with no water

A burst water main in Bristol has caused flooding, with hundreds of residents also experiencing no or low water supply.

The burst main is between Hammond Road and Hayes Way in Patchway. The problem is said to be affecting postcodes BS34, BS32, BS7 and BS10.

Bristol water have said: "water is returning to the wider area, although this may be at a lower pressure than normal." Their team are said to be delivering bottled water to their most vulnerable customers.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service has said about 1,500 properties are affected. The fire service have reported no casualties and their crews have now left the scene.

Any road diversions previously put in place have now been lifted.
