Michael Skubala named new Bristol City boss
The 43 year old guided Lincoln City to the League One title last season
Bristol City have appointed Lincoln boss Michael Skubala as their new manager on a three-year contract.
Skubala, 43, has left the Imps, who he guided to the Sky Bet League One title this season, and will officially take up his new role at Ashton Gate on June 9.
Former England boss Roy Hodgson spent the last two months of the season as the Robins’ interim manager after they had sacked Gerhard Struber in March.
Skubala told the club’s official website: “I’m delighted to take up this exciting opportunity. I’ve had some really positive conversations with the board and James Ellis, who have been very clear about the club’s ambition.
“I’m ready for the challenge ahead and looking forward to meeting the players, staff and supporters. Preparations for pre-season are well underway and we have an important and exciting few months ahead.”
Skubala held coaching roles within the Football Association and was assistant head coach of England Under-18s before joining the coaching staff at Leeds, where he also had a spell as interim boss in 2023 before becoming head coach at Lincoln.
