Renewed appeal as search for missing George continues in Portishead
Witnesses urged to help locate missing 18-year-old

Police have renewed their appeal for help in locating George, an 18-year-old who went missing in Portishead.
George was last seen near the Royal Inn pub off Pier Road at approximately 8.20pm on Thursday, 17th September.
Extensive searches have been conducted by police, fire services, Coastguard, RNLI, and the National Police Air Service in and around Woodlands Road and the beach where George was last seen.
Despite thorough efforts including the use of specialist search units, drones, and dog teams, along with CCTV reviews and house-to-house inquiries, George remains missing.
Last week, officials sought information from individuals on the beach at the time, particularly one witness who may have seen George.
Authorities appreciate those who have provided information and potentially sighted George in Kenn, Clevedon, and Portishead town centre, leading to search deployments in these areas.
The public has been actively assisting in search efforts and is advised to exercise caution to avoid danger in areas like mud, rocks, or heights.
Today, a clip is being released showing George leaving his home, wearing distinctive clothing that might help in identifying him.
He is described as white, standing approximately 5ft 7ins tall, with short brown hair.
George was last seen donning a black Gymshark hoodie, black Gymshark jogging bottoms, and grey and orange Yeezy Boost trainers.
His black baseball cap was found, and he is not believed to be wearing it.
George’s family expressed gratitude for public support and continues to appeal for information that might bring George home: “We would like to thank everyone who has called with offers of support and helped police in the search for our son, whether that is through sharing appeals online or joining the search effort."
They added, “We continue to appeal for any information which will bring George home to us and ask that people respect our privacy during this incredibly difficult time.”
