Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man connected to an incident on a Bristol bus last month.

The incident of outraging public decency was reported by a woman on the number 76 service near Redcliff Hill at around 9am on 21st January.

The woman boarded the bus, which was travelling from East Street to the city centre, and sat next to a man when the incident took place.

After an argument occurred, the man left the bus at Redcliff Hill and left the area.

Officers have since conducted patrols in the area, focusing on buses, various bus stops, and Bristol bus station.

Investigations have been underway, including CCTV reviews and statement collections.

Authorities are now reaching out to witnesses and anyone who can identify the man in question.

The individual is described as a white male, aged 35-38, about 5ft 10ins tall, with a bald head and a sparse beard, and was wearing black trousers and a black jacket.

Appeal for information

PC Max Sims, the officer involved, said: "This is a disturbing incident which has understandably caused emotional distress to the victim, who has been offered access to support services they may benefit from, and we have maintained contact with her.

"We understand the bus was busy at the time of the incident and we would appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the incident or those with other relevant information to come forward.

"We would also like to hear from anybody with information on the identity of the man, pictured, who we believe may have information which could support our investigation, to contact us."
