Worcestershire college 'really looking forward' to partnership to enhance career opportunities for students
The Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW) announced earlier this week it had formed a new three-year partnership with Worcester Bosch
A three-year partnership between the Heart of Worcestershire College (HoW) and Worcester Bosch Group will help "create better opportunities" for people in the area, the college's vice principal of apprenticeships, partnerships and skills has said.
The post-16 education provider announced earlier this week it had teamed up with the company with the aim of helping students improve and develop their workplace skills and enhance their job prospects.
As part of the collaboration, it'll see them work together on projects that benefit both organisations, with the likes of work placements and site visits included through it.
Vice principal of apprenticeships, partnerships and skills, Mo Horan, said the college was "really looking forward" to the partnership, and it should be of real benefit to pupils.
"Employers are constantly telling us that they need people with the right technical skills, behaviours and industry awareness, while young people are increasingly looking for clear routes into rewarding careers," she said.
"So by working together we are bridging that gap, Worcester Bosch gains an opportunity to engage with future talent and our students benefit from direct access to industry expertise, role models and career opportunities.
"It's also important because both organisations are major contributors to the local economy and share a responsibility to invest in the future skills and prosperity of Worcestershire."
Other elements to it involve skill-sharing activities, guest lectures and industry updates, while Worcester Bosch Group is planning to actively participate in the college's bi-annual employer forum and contribute to the curriculum development.
