Kirkcolm Community Hub seeks support to keep services running during summer

Kirkcolm Community Hub is reaching out to the local community, urging them to engage with the hub's services as the summer holidays continue.
So far during the holidays, the hub's initiatives have struggled to gain traction.
Despite offering a free Friday Burger Lunch, zero burgers have been served, and weekly summer activities have seen no attendees.
Additionally, though the Community Shop has been open six days a week, only nine customers have visited in the past month.

The hub highlights the significant effort required to maintain these activities and services, which depend on securing funding through grants, staff time and planning, volunteers, operational costs, stock, and equipment.
In an attempt to attract more visitors, they have reduced the price of crisps to 10p, as they approach their best-before date.
Kirkcolm Community Hub acknowledges that summer is typically a busy time, with families engrossed in holidays, outings, and enjoying the good weather.

However, community engagement is vital to showcasing the demand for the hub's services, securing future funding, and ensuring continuous operations.
They encourage locals to drop in, whether to participate in activities, shop, grab a bargain, or simply for a chat, underlining that every visitor helps sustain the hub's efforts.
The hub also requests community members to share their message, to spread awareness and support for the continuation of its valuable services.
