Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake: Your ultimate guide

Following the success of the first three series, fans will be pleased to know Pete Wicks' popular dog show For Dogs' Sake has now been renewed for a fourth series, coming very soon!

After the third series hit our screens in January, Pete himself has now confirmed the news we all wanted to hear, whilst speaking on his podcast with best mate and Hits Radio presenter Sam Thompson.

For Dogs' Sake, which first aired back in 2025, sees dog lover Pete Wicks attend the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Basildon, where he's on a mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs across the UK.

There's so far been three series of Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake, with series four arriving at the end of September 2026.

Series one, two and three are made-up of five episodes, so it's expected series four will follow the same format.

What channel is it on?

For Dogs' Sake airs on free-to-air TV channel U&W (formally known as W). The channel is number 25 on Freeview.

Filming takes place at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Basildon.

Who hosts the show?

Former TOWIE and Strictly Come Dancing star, and KISS presenter Pete Wicks hosts the show, with many praising him for his love of dogs and presenting skills in the first series, which first aired in 2025.

Will there be a fourth series?

Yes! Speaking to Sam Thompson on the pair's podcast, Pete said earlier this year: "I start filming for series four in two weeks time," before joking Alison Hammond is his TV 'enemy' with her show For The Love Of Dogs.

He added: "Battersea are currently filming with Alison Hammond For The Love Of Dogs, my enemy in the TV world. But it just goes to show how amazing these charities are."

On 8th May 2026, Pete then wrote on Instagram: 'It’s official - we are back! Series 4 of Pete Wicks: For Dogs Sake is underway and I think it’s gonna be the best series yet!

'I am so blessed to be able to work alongside @dogstrust in the rescue, rehabilitation ond rehoming of dogs in need…this is all I’ve ever wanted to do. We are travelling across the country bringing you the raw emotion and real stories of life at Dogs Trust, the beautiful dogs and the heroes who help.

When is the new series out?

We now know series four will begin at 9pm on Monday 28th September 2028.

Speaking about what he learnt whilst filming, Pete said: "Do you know what, funnily enough it's not even dog related. Its people related… I think I'm guilty of judging - you hear stories and sometimes when you don't have the context behind things, you go, how can someone do that?

"And you don't always understand the reasoning behind it until you see people interact with dogs and then it’s clear… people get themselves in situations and you have to be open-minded. I’m open-minded with dogs but what it's taught me, is to be more open-minded to people as well. I don't have a particular fondness for people.

"But actually that’s wrong because there are still good people in the world. I think what it's taught me is that compassion, empathy and those sorts of things towards animals comes in all sorts of different shapes and forms."
