Four people have been arrested following reports of a fight and a firearm being discharged in Gamesley.

Emergency services were called at around 4.20pm on Christmas Day, 25th December, after reports that a man had been assaulted in Bradwell Lea.

The man, who is in his late teens, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and remains in a serious condition.

A second man, also in his late teens, later attended Glossop Police Station with stab wounds to his abdomen.

He was taken to hospital and is in a stable condition.

Firearm seen on CCTV

Officers say CCTV from the scene shows what appears to be a firearm being discharged.

However, there were no gunshot injuries to either of the men in hospital and it is not believed anyone was hurt by a firearm.

Arrests made

Four people, three men and a woman, have been arrested after armed officers attended an address in Hollins Close, Gamesley.

Police say it is believed everyone involved in what happened has now been detained.

Investigators say the inquiry is at an early stage but it is believed those involved are known to one another.

There is not thought to be any wider risk to the public.
