Pair charged with murder of west London girl who died in 2023

Two people have been charged with the murder of a three-year-old girl who was found dead in 2023, the Metropolitan Police have said.

The force said emergency services were called to a residential address in Pennine Way in Hayes, west London, at 6.09pm on December 17 following reports of a child being found dead.

The child was identified as three-year-old Penelope Chandrie, from Hayes.

Her death has remained under investigation and on Thursday two people were arrested and later charged with her murder.

The Metropolitan Police said "Manpreet Jatana, 34, and Jaskiret Singh Uppal, 36, both of Pennine Way, Hayes, are due to appear before Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Friday."
