This afternoon, The Duke of Sussex made a special visit to a Birmingham school to launch the INSPIRE education programme, a key part of the preparations for the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

The Duke actively participated in various events at the school, including a pickleball session with wounded, injured, and sick former Invictus Games competitors and pupils, and engaged in a STEM lesson focusing on prosthetic design and engineering.

Designed to engage learners from Early Years to Key Stage 5, the INSPIRE programme features curriculum-aligned resources in subjects such as Maths, English, STEM, Art, Performing Arts, Sport, and PSHE, all aimed at inspiring pupils through the stories and values of Invictus Games competitors.

Today's announcement highlighted the programme's goal of engaging over 25,000 schoolchildren across Birmingham and the West Midlands, alongside supporting recovery opportunities for more than 1,500 service personnel and veterans.

The launch sets the stage for the upcoming ticket sales for Birmingham 2027, with further details expected in October.
