Saxon unleash new song 'Medusa' and announce 'Gods of Thunder' album signings
Meet Biff, Doug and Brian
Saxon have unleashed the blistering new song ‘Medusa’ and its accompanying music video.
Following hot on the heels of the Planet Rock playlisted anthem and ‘Gods of Thunder’, ‘Medusa’ is lifted from Saxon’s 25th studio album ‘Gods of Thunder’ which lands on Friday 22nd January 2027.
Lyrically, ‘Medusa’ is inspired by the terrifying Gorgon of Greek mythology, whose mere gaze could turn mortals to stone, while the track itself is a relentless heavy metal monster that’s powered by killer riffs and Biff Byford’s trademark vocals.
Biff says of the single: “A step into the world of Greek mythology ‘Medusa’, a god who could turn you to stone with a glance! Epic metal, epic story! Enjoy!”
To celebrate the single’s release, Saxon have launched a competition to win a signed guitar themed around Peter Sallai’s ‘Medusa’ single artwork.
Official ‘Medusa’ merchandise is also available and you can visit HERE for more information and full competition details.
