Saxon announce 25th studio album 'Gods of Thunder' and unleash title track

Barnsley heavy metal behemoths Saxon have announced their 25th studio album ‘Gods of Thunder’.
Released on Friday 22nd January 2027 via Silver Lining Music and available to pre-order here, ‘Gods of Thunder’ was produced by frontman Biff Byford and mixed by long-term collaborator Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Exodus, Accept and Priest guitarist).
Thematically, the album draws on history, fantasy, horror, ancient mythology, pagan rites and the enduring spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.
As a taster for the record, Saxon have premiered the colossal lead single and title track ‘Gods of Thunder.’
Biff Byford says of the track: “‘Gods of Thunder’ is a mighty tale of Celtic mythology, packed with the spirit and power of true heavy metal. Turn it up and bang your head!”
