Ritchie Blackmore to talk Rainbow 'Rising' on Planet Rock
He'll also answer questions about his fabled career
Ritchie Blackmore will appear on Planet Rock for the first time ever this weekend to reflect on Rainbow’s earth-shattering ‘Rising’ album on its 50th anniversary year.
The Deep Purple and Rainbow guitar titan will feature on The Longer Player with Mark Jeeves on Sunday 11th October from 5pm to 6pm.
Ritchie will answer questions about the recording of Rainbow’s heavy metal masterpiece ‘Rising’, why it’s so still special half a century on, what it was like working with the late-great Ronnie James Dio, his success as a founding member of Deep Purple, his enduring influence on guitarists, and much more.
Make sure you tune in to this exclusive show!
Back in January, ‘Stargazer’ from Rainbow’s ‘Rising’ album was voted the third greatest rock song of all time by Planet Rock listeners.
Don’t forget Ritchie isn’t the only legendary rock guitarist to grace Planet Rock’s airwaves this month – Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi is the host of Friday Night Rocks every week throughout October from 7pm to 10pm.
