Get to know Molly Rainford & Tyler West
The couple's new Rayo Original podcast The Prenup is out now!
Last updated 16 hours ago
EastEnders’ Molly Rainford and KISS Breakfast’s Tyler West are putting their relationship to the test in their first-ever podcast, The Prenup.
The Rayo Original podcast sees the recently engaged couple debate some of the most opinion-splitting topics about modern relationships. Before walking down the aisle, they’ll be deciding their ‘do’s and don’ts’ – applicable to not just their relationship, but any relationship. Their decision will be written up into a “legally binding” prenup live on the show.
To add to the chaos, they’ll be reacting to your funniest relationship stories and even giving advice.
To celebrate, we sat down with Molly and Tyler to find out a little bit more about their relationship, the hot topic they can’t wait to discuss and some of their career highlights.
Listen to The Prenup every Thursday on Rayo, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music or wherever you get your podcasts.
You met on Strictly Come Dancing, but when did you realise you wanted to start dating each other?
M: “I realised quite soon. I saw him on the Strictly lineup and I thought ‘no, that’s not what we’re doing – we’re here for the dancing and the opportunity.’ Then I saw him in the corridor and realised it was inevitable."
T: “I fancied the pants off you in the corridor, but mine was when I first made a move on you. In the Clauditorium on Strictly, Molly told me ‘congratulations on your score of 10’, and I said ‘I’m looking at a 10 right now'. It was the ickiest thing that I’ve ever said in my life.”
M: “But it worked!”
And when did you actually start dating?
M: “We started dating on the first night of the Strictly tour. We went to Trap Kitchen, had jerk wings and magnum slushies.”
Who said “I love you” first?
T: “I did. It was actually before we were officially together.”
M: “Yeah, it was on tour as well.”
Tyler, how did you propose?
T: “It was a fully-fledged side quest ... mission accomplished. It was in Mykonos, a place we always wanted to go, and it was a very last-minute trip. Molly had no idea whatsoever; I planned a fake photographer who pretended that she was the hotel photographer wanting to take some pictures of us to get an upgrade. Then boom, I dropped to one knee in the hotel room.”
M: “It was really nice. You can see how surprised I am in the video ... it’s really cute. Let's be honest, it's not the first time you would have fake proposed.”
What made you want to start a podcast together?
M: “For a long time, we’ve wanted to share little bits about each other and our relationship with people who enjoy it. And what better way to do it than put it on a podcast where we can chat, be ourselves, and show what we’re like behind the camera?"
T: “We love meeting new people and just chatting. I think a podcast is a perfect combination where we can talk about things going on in our lives but also have some proper belly laughs.”
M: “And also to be able to interact in a different way with people.”
Is there a hot topic you can’t wait to discuss?
T: “Oh gosh. Molly and I aren’t insecure people, but I can’t wait to discuss hypothetical scenarios in our relationship.”
M: “I’m looking forward to talking about our competitiveness. It's clearly brought us together in one way or another, whether that be competing against each other on Strictly but also doing Celebrity Race Across the World together. So I’m looking forward to seeing how competitive we get in our debates.”
What is your favourite memory from Celebrity Race Across the World?
T: “It was probably in Belize. We were working at a Carribean restaurant. At the end of the shift, when we were sitting on the beach looking out at sunset, I was thinking 'this girl has no idea that I was meant to be proposing today but we're on Race Across the World.'"
Molly, what was your biggest highlight from your time on Eastenders?
M: “Definitely finding out who my mum was going to be and doing the big reveal. Cindy Beale was my mum and she came back from the dead, iconic as always. I also loved being part of a big Christmas storyline since EastEnders Christmas is so massive. More than anything, I’m buzzing that I got to be the family living in the Vic.”
Tyler, you recently started hosting KISS Breakfast with Chloe Burrows. What is the best and worst thing about working with Chloe?
T: “How long have we got? The best thing about working with Chloe is you don’t know what’s going to come out of her mouth next, so she always keeps you on your toes. The worst thing is that she will forever say she needs a holiday. She constantly needs a holiday.”
Who apologises first after an argument?
M: Me
T: Me
M: “No, it takes Tyler like a day to simmer on it sometimes.
T: “Yeah, but I give you a good heartfelt apology. So you probably first, me more heartfelt.”
M: “Yours is more genuine, and mine’s like ‘fine, I’m sorry’
Who’s the better cook?
M: “Me”
T: “Molly”
Who plans the holidays?
M: “Tyler”
T: “Me”
