Wicked coin released to celebrate 20th anniversary of the musical in the West End

Wicked, the hugely popular musical, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in the West End in style. The stage production of the musical, which has now been made into films starring Ariana Grande, shows no signs of fading as a commemorative coin themed around it has now been released.
Brought to life by Emma Kingston who plays Elphaba and Zizi Strallen who plays Glinda in the West End production of the show, fans now have a chance to get their hands on the coin. The 50p is available in various editions and features Elphaba's hat and broomstick which form the hands of a Roman numeral clock face.
Around the clock face are other items such as Glinda's wand and shoes, the Grimmerie spellbook, a flying monkey and the Wizard of Oz in his hot air balloon.
Wicked London, said of celebrating its 20th year: "We are proud to have Wicked immortalised on an official UK coin as part of our landmark anniversary, offering fans and collectors alike a magical opportunity to commemorate the date long after the curtain falls on the celebrations."

What editions are available?
As the coin is a commemorative coin, it is available in various editions, starting at £15 for an Brilliant Uncirculated Coin, going up to £2,420 for Gold Proof Coin - made from recycled gold, 'reflecting The Royal Mint's ongoing commitment to sustainable and responsible sourcing across its collectable coin range.'
According to the Royal Mint: 'Each coin is presented in bespoke packaging inspired by the London stage production, pairing recognisable elements from the musical with a vibrant colour palette that echoes the show's theatrical tone, making the collection as striking to display as it is to own.'
