The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised two additional charges against Brand, aged 50, from Oxfordshire.

The new charges include:

These charges involve two further women and are in addition to five previous charges issued against Brand in April 2025. The earlier charges related to four women and included:

Detectives began investigating after receiving a series of allegations following reporting by Channel 4’s Dispatches and The Sunday Times in September 2023.

Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi, leading the investigation, said the women involved continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

He added: “The Met’s investigation remains ongoing, and detectives urge anyone affected by this case, or anyone with information, to come forward and speak with police.

Russell Brand is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 20th January 2026 in relation to the additional charges.

A trial for the original five charges is set to begin at Southwark Crown Court on 16th June 2026.

The charges, including the two issued on 23rd December 2025, relate to allegations made by six different women.

The Metropolitan Police have asked that anyone reporting on this case does so responsibly and in accordance with the Attorney General's Office guidelines, the common law, and the Contempt of Court Act 1981.
