Man 'Climbed over roof to get into House of Lords'

A 23 year old from Berkshire has been arrested

An alleged trespasser climbed over a roof and got into the House of Lords without being checked by security, it has been claimed.

Devon Dorrall, 23, from Tilehurst, Berkshire, has been charged with trespassing on a protected site on November 30.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on December 1 and was remanded in custody until a plea hearing on December 30.

The Daily Mail reported that he climbed over the roof of the Parliamentary Education Centre and got as far as the Cholmondeley Room before a workman raised the alarm.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 1.04pm on Sunday November 30 to the Palace of Westminster where they arrested an intruder.

"He did not come into contact with members of either House.

"Devon Dorrall, 23, of Tilehurst, was charged on Monday December 1 with trespass on a protected site.

"He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court the following day where he was remanded in custody."
