Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a female pedestrian was left with life-threatening injuries following a road traffic collision in Swindon in the early hours of this morning.

The woman is currently receiving hospital treatment after being struck by a car, which did not remain at the scene. Officers say it is possible the driver may be unaware they were involved in a collision and are urging them to come forward as a matter of urgency.

The incident occurred on Dorcan Way, which remains closed in both directions between the Morrison’s roundabout and the Nythe Road junction while the Serious Collision Investigation Team works at the scene.

Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.

Police are also appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage from the area between 4am and 6am to contact investigators.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 46 of 8 November, or email [email protected].
