Man arrested after nine-year-old girl's death in Arbroath
Her death is being treated as suspicious

A 35-year-old man has been arrested following the death of a nine-year-old girl in Arbroath.
Officers were called to Elliot Industrial Estate shortly after midnight on 3rd August 2026, where they found the girl with serious injuries.
She was rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, but died of her injuries.
Detective Superintendent Nicky McGovern confirmed her death is being treated as suspicious.
Her family are being supported by specialist officers as investigations continue.
