Yorkshire County Cricket Club has moved its men's pre-season tour from the UAE to Spain due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, the team will now head to Desert Springs on Sunday for a 10-day training camp.

A group of players returning from a training camp in Melbourne will join the squad later next week.

Gavin Hamilton, General Manager of Cricket, said: “Given the ongoing situation in the Middle East, the safety of all our players and staff is of paramount importance to us."

"As a result of this, we’ve worked swiftly to rearrange our plans, and we’re pleased to have turned this alternative provision around in such a short space of time.

“We’ve been really pleased with the workloads and the level of cricket shown by our players over the winter, and the camp in Desert Springs allows us a great opportunity to build on this further.

“It will also give the players an opportunity to collectively come together for the first time this winter and will ensure they have enough preparation time ahead of the start of the season next month.”

Further details on the Yorkshire Women's planned tour to Abu Dhabi are expected soon.
