A West Yorkshire Police officer has been formally acquitted of charges, including the intentional strangulation of a woman.
46 year old DC Dean Hammond, who serves in Wakefield District, was acquitted after pleading not guilty to charges also including assault by beating and controlling and coercive behaviour.
The offences were said to have happened in the Hull area while DC Hammond was off duty and were investigated by Humberside Police.
The case was heard at Hull Crown Court on 10th March, where the Crown Prosecution Service decided to discontinue the criminal proceedings.
