Witnesses sought after elderly cyclist dies in Altofts
Police appeal following fatal fall from electric bike
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man died following a bicycle accident in Altofts.
The incident occurred on Friday 24th July at approximately 11.55am.
Police were called to Lock Lane after reports that a cyclist had fallen from his electric assisted pedal cycle.
The cyclist, a man in his 80s, died at the scene.
Officers are eager to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the events leading up to the incident or the incident itself.
The bicycle involved is described as a green Trek EAPC, and the man was travelling away from Altofts towards Castleford, near the Aire and Calder Navigation.
