No fine's have been issued for anti-social driving on a Bradford road in two years - despite a working camera at the scene.

Bradford Council admitted the gap after being questioned by Green councillor Matt Edwards at a full council meeting on Wednesday.

He's now called for an urgent review, pointing out the same lack of enforcement on nearby Dick Lane.

Councillor Edwards, Green councillor for Holmewood and Bierley, said:

“The answer confirms that not a single enforcement notice has been issued for anti-social vehicle use along Tong Lane in the two years that camera’s been there.

“That’s despite the camera, which we now know works. It’s despite the substantial body of evidence that residents in the area have supplied to the council, which appears not to have been acted on.”

Speaking after the meeting, Councillor Edwards said:

“The last Labour administration was weak when it came to enforcing these rules, and I repeatedly had to force them to act. I hope the new Reform administration will do better.

"But the answer I got didn’t convince me that the new Reform administration understands the problem, or the legal powers the council already has to tackle it. That being said, I am happy to work with the new administration to make sure Bradford residents get to see some action on this.”
