Human remains discovered in Emley belonged to Wakefield man missing since 2013
Police are not treating the death as suspicious
Police have identified human remains found on land in Emley as belonging to a missing Wakefield man who was last seen 13 years ago.
The remains were discovered at Kiln Lane on January 14 and have since undergone extensive testing.
Officers have now revealed they belong to Kevin Judge, who was previously reported missing from Lupset on April 15 2013.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Detective Superintendent Damian Roebuck, of West Yorkshire Police, said:
“Following the discovery made in January we have worked with a number of experts to carry out tests, and we are now confident that these remains have been identified and that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“Kevin’s family are being supporting by specialist officers and I hope this development may start to bring them some closure following the long-running investigation into his disappearance.
“A file will now be prepared for the coroner.”
