A FORMER mill building that was recently earmarked as a 250 pupil school has gone on the market.

Cumberland House on Cemetery Road was once part of a sprawling development of Victorian mill buildings and mill workers’ homes.

The large building has since been converted into office space, but has been empty since 2023.

Last year education provider Pivot Academy submitted plans to convert the building into a school for pupils with complex needs.

The application said the new school would eventually have up to 250 pupils and 110 teaching staff.

But the plans were refused by Bradford Council, with Highways Officers fearing the development would not provide the parking or drop off spaces a school of this size would require.

The building has now been put on the market with a guide price of £650,000.

The listing on the website for Skipton based estate agents Mark Brearley & Co describes the property as a “substantial Four Storey Mill Building” with 2,391 sqm of internal space.
