Man charged by police investigating rape in Leeds

Detectives investigating a rape in Leeds have charged a man.

A man has been charged by police investigating reports of a serious sexual assault in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police say they were called to reports a woman was approached as she walked to a shop in the city's Hyde Park area around 10pm on Thursday 9 April.

They say she is being supported by specially trained officers.

Uvesh Vahora, 35, of Autumn Avenue has been charged with the rape of a woman.

He is due to appear before Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 April.
