Man charged after child raped in Huddersfield more than ten years ago

A man is due to appear before magistrates after being arrested and charged as part of enquiries into a rape offence reported in Kirklees in 2011.

Zana Adil Mohammed, aged 48 of no fixed address, will appear before Leeds Magistrates Court today (28 October), charged with the rape of a child.

The 48-year-old, who self defines as Asian, Arabic, was arrested on Thursday (16 October) in connection with an offence of rape reported in the Birkby area of Huddersfield on the 11th of December, 2011.

The offence was recently reinvestigated by Kirklees safeguarding officers, resulting in enquires leading to the arrest.
