Man arrested after teenager injured in Bradford shooting
A teenager is in hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Bradford.
Police say the 18 year old was injured last night on Dovesdale Road.
A 43 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a class A drug.
He is currently in Police custody.
A Police statement said: "Detectives are investigating after a report of a firearms discharge on Dovesdale Road, Bradford.
"Officers were made aware at 18.27 yesterday (9 March) that an 18-year-old man had attended at hospital with injuries consistent with a firearms discharge.
"The 18 year old remains in hospital with serious injuries.
"A scene is currently in place on Dovesdale Road whilst enquiries are carried out by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
"A man aged 43 has been arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a class A drug. He remains in police custody at this time."
Detective Inspector Suzanne Hall from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team Said:
“This has clearly been a very serious incident in which a victim has sustained injuries.
“Firearms offences are treated exceptionally seriously in West Yorkshire and we are conducting a full investigation into this incident which we believe was a targeted attack.
"We are working with our neighbourhood policing colleagues in the area to provide reassurance to residents.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information at all is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.”
