Bradford woman guilty of causing death of passenger in M62 supercar crash

A Bradford woman has been convicted of causing the death of her passenger, after the supercar she was driving flipped over on the M62 and caught fire.
Leeds Crown Court heard Humaira Batool, 26 and of Bankfoot, reached speeds of 143mph between Junctions 22 and 23 westbound in the early hours of 21 December 2022.
She then lost control, with the vehicle crashing and leaving her with serious leg injuries.
Passenger 20 year old Mohammed Shaan Hussain was killed.
Batool was later arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy of West Yorkshire Police said: “We welcome the verdict of the jury in today finding Batool guilty of causing death by dangerous driving.
"We always maintained she was responsible for her own actions in choosing to drive the car to speeds up to double the speed limit , and she must now answer for the incredibly dangerous driving she demonstrated on that night.
"We now await her sentencing on 2 November.”
