Specialist officers have been called in after a suspicious package was discovered at Leeds General Infirmary earlier today.

West Yorkshire Police were contacted at 11:02am today after a 'suspicious substance' would found inside the package.

Cordons were established, with some patients being moved to different parts of the hospital.

Tests confirmed the substance found inside posed no risk to the public and the incident was stood down this afternoon.

The incident has been recorded as a case of 'malicious communications', with investigations into the origin of the parcel continuing.
