Three teenagers arrested after stabbing in Leeds city centre

Three teenagers have been arrested after a stabbing in Leeds city centre last night.

Police were called to Kirkgate after a fight broke out between 6:15pm and 6:20pm, with an 18 year old man found with injuries caused by a blade.

He was treated in hospital.

Two 18 year old men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding, with a 17 year old questioned on suspicion of affray.

All remain in custody.

Superintendent Matt Scott for Leeds Police, said: “We continue to investigate the serious assault on an 18-year-old victim, and I want to reassure residents all necessary enquires are being carried out by detectives.

"Knife crime has absolutely no place in our communities.
