Leeds bus driver crowned the best in Britain

A Leeds bus driver has fought off strong competition to be crowned the best in Britain!!!

David Nairn went up against 100 drivers over in Blackpool.

He says he couldn't believe it when he heard his name read out.

David says: "I cried for the first time in 15 years!”

“I turned to people on my table and said: ‘Oh my God, really?’ I couldn’t believe it.”

“I’d moved up one place but went into it relaxed, trying not to think about it too much, otherwise there’s always the chance you’ll mess up."

He was persuaded to enter by his partner, Hayley, in 2023 and in the five years he has been at First Bus David has reached the finals three times, finishing in fifth place last year and sixth on his debut.
