Leeds domestic abuser jailed after repeatedly breaching restraining order

The 39 year old will spend more than three years behind bars

A Leeds man has been sentenced to prison after repeatedly breaching a restraining order and making threats with a bladed against a domestic abuse victim..

Jermaine Richards, 39, from Bexley Terrace, admitted to a total of four charges at Leeds Crown Court on Wednesday (February 4).

He was jailed for three years two months.

Temporary Detective Inspector George Gill of West Yorkshire Police said:

“We are absolutely committed as a force to protecting victims of domestic abuse and holding offenders to account."

“There are specially trained officers in Leeds who can provide support to those who suffer domestic abuse, we also work in partnership with a wide range of voluntary agencies."

“I hope this sentence sends a clear message to anyone who breaches a court order, that this will not be tolerated and we will continue to get justice for victims."

“If you have been a victim of domestic abuse, please report it to us, we will listen to you in confidence and support you throughout the process.”
