Investigation underway after the death motorcyclist in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for information following the death of a motorcyclist in a collision in the Fixby area of Huddersfield last night (Monday 20 April).

Officers were called to a collision on A641 Bradford Road at 7.40pm. A motorcyclist, who was riding a red Honda motorcycle, was travelling towards Bradley Roundabout when he has come off his bike, suffering fatal injuries.

He has not yet been formally identified but is understood to be a 42-year-old man. His family have been informed.

Detective Sergeant Nina Roper, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said:

“A man has sadly lost his life. From our enquiries at the scene, we understand that no other vehicles were involved but we are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this collision.

“As part of this, we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or the events leading up to it.

“Members of the public who were in the vicinity are also asked to check their CCTV or dashcam to see whether they have any footage of a red Honda motorcycle around the time of the collision.”
