Investigation getting underway after a fatal collision in Mytholmroyd
An investigation is getting underway after a fatal collision in Mytholmroyd.
Police were called to Blackstone Edge Road last night, a motorbike and a car had been in a collision. The motorbike rider, a 62-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Police statement said:
"Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Mytholmroyd.
"Officers were called at 5.30pm yesterday (2 July) to Blackstone Edge Road where it meets Turvin Road to reports that a motorbike and a silver Volkswagen Polo has been in collision.
"The rider of the motorbike a 62-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"The driver of the Polo a 50 year old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst over the prescribed limit (drugs) and remains in police custody this morning."
