Man charged with serious assault on woman in Huddersfield

A man from Huddersfield is facing charges for a serious assault that left a woman in her 30s with severe head injuries.

Gareth Brook, a 34-year-old man from Fernside Avenue, is set to appear in Leeds Magistrates Court today, 20th December, on charges of Section 18 wounding with intent.

The charges relate to an incident in the early hours of Friday, 19th December, at an address on Fernside Avenue, where police responded at 12.26am.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim, who sustained very serious head injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Police enquiries into the assault are ongoing.
