Halifax Panthers handed Championship reprieve after falling into liquidation
Halifax had their RFL membership revoked three weeks ago after being placed into compulsory liquidation
Halifax Panthers have been restored to this season's second-tier Championship with immediate effect, the Rugby Football League has confirmed.
Halifax had their RFL membership revoked three weeks ago after being placed into compulsory liquidation in a High Court ruling.
However, after being revived by a local consortium, the club have been restored to the fixture list and are scheduled to face London Broncos at The Shay on Sunday.
The club have been told to reschedule their first two games of the season, against Sheffield Eagles and Barrow, and will belatedly start the campaign with a 12-point penalty.
