A man has been jailed for life, with a minimum term of over 20 years, for the killing of a mum of four from Halifax.

36 year old Paris Kendall was discovered unresponsive with severe head injuries in an alleyway off Keighley Road in Illingworth on August 13 last year.

She later died at the scene.

Her boyfriend, Lee Taylor, was apprehended the same day at an address on Athol Close, where he was found to have clothing stained in Paris' blood.

Two days later, Taylor, 40, of Wellington Close, Halifax, was charged with her murder.

He was also charged with grievous bodily harm over a separate incident involving an attack on a man on April 29 2025.

Taylor was set to go on trial at Bradford Crown Court but later admitted to the murder charge. He was later convicted of GBH by a jury.

"Much‑loved mother, daughter, and family member" Paris Kendall

Today, Taylor was sentenced to 21 years in prison, for both the murder of Paris Kendall and the assault on the man last year.

In a tribute, Paris's family wrote: "Paris was a much‑loved mother, daughter, and family member whose warmth touched everyone she met."

"She adored her four children and her family, and those who knew her describe her as a beautiful soul who brought happiness and comfort to those around her.

"We are heartbroken and losing Paris has left a pain that words cannot truly express.

"Paris will be remembered for her love, her kindness, and the joy she brought into the world."

Detective Sergeant Adrian Belle of West Yorkshire Police said:

"Taylor’s decision to change his plea to guilty cannot bring Paris back to her loved ones, but it does spare her family the further trauma of a full trial."

"However, that plea does nothing to lessen the brutality and sheer callousness of what was done to Paris that day in August last year.

"I hope her family can take some small comfort and reassurance in knowing he will face justice for his actions.

"Paris’s death is a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating impact of violence against women and girls and highlights the importance of our continued commitment to tackling it in all its forms."
