Detectives investigating the murder of Suhail Choudry in Keighley have made an additional arrest this weekend as the search for answers surrounding the tragic incident continues.
A 42-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder and remains under police detention.
Two crime scenes have been established on Spencer Street and Parsons Street while thorough investigations are carried out by West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
Suhail Choudry, aged 35, died in the hospital on Wednesday following a severe assault that left him critically injured.
During initial inquiries, it was revealed that the assault might be linked to other violent incidents in Keighley in the preceding days.
The victim was reportedly chased and attacked with weapons such as bats and sticks in the vicinity of East Avenue, in what authorities believe to be a targeted attack.
His wife Zara paid this tribute to him saying.
“On the early morning of Suhail’s attack when I received a phonecall, I could never have imagined what the coming days would bring.
“Suhail was a father before anything, it was his proudest title and he was their world.
“Telling our children their daddy has passed away is something no mother should have to do, we will never find peace with the brutality in which he left us.
“I want to appeal today for any information, no matter how big or small to please contact the police.
“Suhail deserves justice, not just for him but for his daughter, son and unborn child.”
Earlier arrests include two men, aged 27 and 30, who remain on police bail, and a 33-year-old man, who was arrested for assisting an offender and is also on bail.
Detectives urge anyone with information regarding the assault or related occurrences to come forward, stressing the importance of community cooperation in resolving the case.
An online Major Incident Public Portal is available for discreet submission of information, including CCTV, phone, dashcam, or doorbell footage.
